Talent Development Program

Our version of a great workplace: having lots of Epic Crews in pursuit of ambitious common goals together. In those environments, we learn the most, perform our best, improve the fastest, and are happiest at work!

Meritocracy-based Advancement

At Agate, we place a strong emphasis on meritocracy. We believe that one’s advancement within the company should be based on their contribution, competence, and cultural alignment (attitude). We operate as a team rather than a family, meaning there is no hierarchy based on seniority. Instead, we strive to reward and discipline fairly based on performance.

Regardless of how long a crew member has been with us or how recently they joined, if they demonstrate exceptional capability, positive growth, and a strong work ethic, they deserve recognition, advancement opportunities, and rewards.

Leveling Up Together

Our crew members are independent learners, and we are committed to supporting their growth and development. To facilitate this, we have implemented a system for leveling up our crew’s skills in various areas, including technical expertise, soft skills, and leadership. We provide access to learning materials such as Skillshare, Udemy, GDC Vault, Masterclass, and e-books. We also pair crew members with suitable mentors, encourage them to set personal development goals, facilitate knowledge sharing sessions, and have a Go-to-Expert program, among other initiatives.

Career Path & Grade Up System

It’s essential to recognize and leverage each crew member’s unique strengths and potential, regardless of whether they are an individual contributor, specialist, or generalist.

At Agate, we strive to establish suitable career paths for every role in each department. Moreover, we encourage our crew members to pursue their promotions through our Grade Up program proactively. If crew members’ skills are not fully utilized in their current roles, we explore opportunities for them to transition to a different role within the company where they can contribute more effectively.

Continuous Feedback

We believe in collaborative work rather than just transactions. To become a great team member, we need to understand our strengths, areas for improvement, and opportunities to develop further. Therefore, feedback should be given to provide assistance and be actionable. We care intensely about our fellow crew members by communicating frequently, aligning objectives, providing timely feedback, and respecting each other. These are all essential elements of effective teamwork.
