Responsibilities
Testing & Validation
- Conduct functional, regression, smoke, compatibility, and exploratory testing.
- Validate new features, gameplay systems, and bug fixes.
- Reproduce, document, and track bugs with clear and actionable details.
- Ensure features meet design intent and do not break existing systems.
Documentation & Test Assets
- Create, maintain, and improve test cases, and QA documentation.
- Identify missing coverage and propose additional test scenarios.
- Keep testing documentation clean, organized, and up to date.
Process Improvement
- Evaluate existing QA workflows and propose improvements or new tools.
- Streamline testing processes to reduce friction and increase efficiency.
- Help establish QA best practices and testing standards across the team.
- Take initiative to solve problems without waiting for instructions.
Collaboration
- Work closely with developers to ensure quality for the product.
- Provide clear feedback for improvements and potential risks.
- Communicate blockers, priorities, and quality concerns effectively.
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
- 2+ years of QA experience in the video game industry.
- Strong understanding of game development pipelines.
- Ability to identify, isolate, and document bugs with high clarity.
- Experience with bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
- Ability to write clear test cases and scenarios.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive mindset: not just finding issues, but improving the way we test.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments.
Pluses:
- Experience in Game Engine.
- Knowledge of QA methodologies (risk-based testing, exploratory testing, regression strategy).
- Experience mentoring junior testers or helping standardize QA processes.
- Passion for games and understanding of player experience.
