In his efforts to build Agate from the ground up, Arief Widhiyasa would become one of the foundational figures in the Indonesian game industry. Since his childhood, he had always envisioned a world where everyone gets meaningful gaming experiences.
His vision would lead him to pursue further education in computer science, where he met more game development enthusiasts. They would band together under the flag of Agate in 2009, with Arief as one of the programmers. In addition to his forward-thinking mindset, his penchant for inspiring his peers and connecting with people would lead him to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Agate. Sitting at the helm of Agate’s leadership, he succeeded in directing Agate to become the biggest game company in Indonesia.
The scale of his leadership would prove to be monumental, earning him international recognition in the esteemed Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 list in 2016. He continues to lead Agate today, with the intention of establishing Agate’s presence in the global market and its continued position as a beacon for the local game development industry.
