Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain VFX workflow together with Art and Technical Art teams.
- Create and implement real-time visual effects for gameplay, environment, and cinematic sequences.
- Develop VFX assets using Unreal Engine’s Niagara system.
- Configure and manage particle systems, materials, and shaders to support visual effects.
- Optimize visual effects performance while maintaining visual quality.
- Collaborate with Art, Technical Art, Design, and Animation teams to ensure VFX aligns with project requirements and visual direction.
- Populate and implement required VFX assets based on available and iterated concepts.
- Support debugging, iteration, and documentation for VFX implementation.
Requirements
- Strong practical experience with real-time VFX implementation in Unreal Engine.
- Hands-on experience using Niagara to create particle-based and procedural visual effects.
- Solid understanding of VFX fundamentals, including timing, readability, color, and shape language.
- Experience implementing shaders, materials, and post-processing effects.
- Ability to create and manage VFX systems with attention to performance and optimization.
- Experience integrating VFX with gameplay systems, animation events, and Blueprints.
- Ability to implement and iterate VFX assets from concept to production-ready quality with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with Artists, Designers, Programmers, and related teams.
- Good organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple VFX tasks.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in real-time VFX, technical art, or a related role, with a portfolio demonstrating gameplay and cinematic VFX work.
