Commemorating Agate’s 9th year running in the Indonesian game industry, Agate—through the flagship series: Valthirian Arc—would release the first console game entitled: Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story. The game acts as a sequel to the previous title, Valthirian Arc 2, which released in December 2013 in one of the largest free-to-play PC game platforms at the time, Kongregate.
The Valthirian Arc series hails the RPG where you play as the newly-pointed headmaster of the formerly renowned Hero Academy in the Kingdom of Valthiria. Your objective within the game is to ensure the best possible training for young adventurers looking to become heroes and even taking part in deciding Valthiria’s upcoming strife.
Since the first release in 2010, the Valthirian Arc series has become one of Agate’s silent witnesses of the journey. Starting from a small studio founded by 19 students that developed small titles, Agate now is supported by over 170 professionals that are fully capable to develop the many varieties of game for an assortment of platforms and consoles.
Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story—originally planned to be titled Valthirian Arc: Red Covenant—had managed to gather funding through the crowd-funding website, Kickstarter.com since March of 2017. The funds raised by the backers and its pledge programs had reached over SGD 30.000. In the end, this funding would not only be used to create a functioning PC game available on Steam, but also now to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch console set to be out on the fourth quarter of 2018.
The release of Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story also helped to become a stepping stone for Agate to make a mark in the global game industry scene. Working together with PQube, an English-based game publisher, Agate will reach players all across the globe. This effort is also supported by localization of the game within 7 different languages that include: English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin. This effort is expected to spread awareness of the game to further reaches. Furthermore, the entire copyrights for Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story that stretches from the ownership of the IPs (Intellectual Properties), crews and development, as well as Agate as the company that takes charge of this project is acknowledged to be a real Indonesian product. The game is also considered as the key milestone of the entire Agate’s journey, as it started as a free online game and now available in the physical product.
Before the official release, the Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story game can be seen in IGX (Indonesian Gaming Xperience) on the 7th and 8th of July and Game Prime 13th to 15th of July soon coming to Jakarta. Within both of these events, visitors will be allowed to try out a demonstration of Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story as well as other game products of Agate.
